Surrounding the apartment boasts a rich array of possibilities for a trip:

Protected Landscape Area “Litovelské pomoraví“(2km)

Protected Landscape area Litovelské pomoraví is an ideal choice for walking or cycling. Between the towns of Mohelnice and Olomouc, the Morava River meanders through a large alluvial plain like a blue artery. If we imagine Moravia River to be an artery, the heart of the area would be the alluvial forest, which, together with rural dam system have served as a prevention against deluge since the Middle Ages. Temporary pools are without doubt the most remarkable alluvial forests biotopes, where rare crustaceans occur in spring. Due to unique natural qualities, a couple of small-scale protected areas (the Ramena řeky Moravy and Vrapač national nature reserves, Litovelské Luhy nature reserve) have been designated.

Litovel (2km)

The royal town of Litovel is situated in the centre of the north-western part of the Haná region, in the valley of the Morava River whose six branches flow through the town, approximately 20 km away from Olomouc. Litovel is known as “Venice of Haná”. The historical part of the town is lined by the former city walls; there is a regular street network with a central square. Peaceful periods of Litovel’s history left us many sights. The Church of St. Phillip and Jacob in the Old Town, Church of St. Mark, Chapel of St. George, St. John’s Bridge (the oldest stone bridge in Moravia and the 3rd oldest one in the country), many burgess-houses in the Renaissance and Baroque style. The real grace of the town is the town hall with the tower. One of the most beautiful buildings in Litovel is the Gymnázium of Jan Opletal, it’s a grammar school built in 1901 and is in Neorenaissance style. The mosaics on the facade of the building show the history of the town.

Natural swimming biotope in Litovel (3km)

Try an exceptional combination of a natural swimming pool and clean water without chemicals. Children and adults can enjoy a range of entertainment and relaxation such as slides, massage jets, water chair, springboard, climbing net, mechanical waves and more. There are also a children’s wading pool, restrooms and cafeteria. The swimming pool is open from June to September every day from 9 am to 7 pm.

The city of Olomouc (22 km)

Olomouc is a major city in Moravia and the capital of the administrative region of the same name. It is the sixth largest city in the country and the most important city in the Haná region of Moravia (also known in English as Hanakia or Hanácko in Czech). Its well preserved Old Town belongs to the most beautiful ones in Czechia and boasts a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Below are some of the most amazing places in the city. The Old Town can be easily explored on foot. Its central point is the impressive Upper Square (Horní náměstí). This is where you’ll find several of the city’s most important landmarks – The Holy Trinity Column (Sloup Nejsvětější Trojice) is located in the northwestern corner of the main square – Horní náměstí. The Holy Trinity Column was inscribed on UNESCO’s World Heritage List in 2000, as the tenth Czech site. Saint Wenceslas’ Cathedral (Katedrála svatého Václava) is part of the Olomouc Castle complex. It is dedicated to Wenceslas I (Václav), Duke of Bohemia and a saint, who is considered a patron of the Czech state. The cathedral was built in the Romanesque style in the 12th century and remodeled in the Gothic style in the 13th and 14th century.

The Olomouc Zoo and Baroque basilica in Svatý Kopeček (28 km)

The Holy Hill (Svatý Kopeček) used to be a town, nowadays it is a district of Olomouc. There is an impressive Baroque pilgrimage basilica in Svatý Kopeček. The Olomouc Zoo is also located in Svatý Kopeček. If you would like to get there from the city center, the bus line 11 and seasonally also 111 go there. The bus stops, for example, next to the main train station (Hlavní nádraží).

Bouzov Castle (20 km)

Castle in Bouzov, it’s claimed to be one of the most beautiful castles in Moravia. It was originally built in the Gothic style but towards the end of the 19th century it was renovated in the style of Romantic Gothic. Filmmakers are attracted to the region to shoot films and fairy tales not only because of the dominating castle, but also due to beautiful surrounding countryside.

Sovinec (12 km)

Sovinec is a castle situated on a cone-shaped hill located in the south-west parts of the Rešov hilly region of Bruntál District, in North Moravia. In the ruins of the castle Sovinec there are during the year various organised fairs and festivals.

Náměšť na Hané (16,5 km)

Picturesque chateau in Náměšť na Hané was built in the 18th century in the most modern style of the early Baroque Classicism. In its interior you can find a unique collection of Meissen porcelain and furniture of different historical styles. The castle is surrounded by a circular park in French style.

Úsov (12 km)

The chateau Úsov is among the most popular tourist attractions in the southernmost part of the Jeseníky Mountains. Originally a Gothic castle from the 13th century it was later slightly rebuilt and nowadays it’s used as a Hunting-Forestry Museum. Its interiors contain animals, hunting trophies and other natural products.

Chudobín (7 km)

Empire castle from year 1847 is located in village of only 200 inhabitants. The castle used to be a hotel but since it is now in private hands it’s out of service and it’s not open to public. Chudobín is also notable because it has three churches of different faiths – Hussite Church, Roman Catholic and Orthodox.

Mladeč caves (7,7 km)

The Mladeč Caves are situated not far from the protected landscape area “Litovelské Pomoraví”. The complex labyrinth of fissure corridors and caves can be found inside the calcite hill of Třesín. The underground spaces are richly decorated with stalactites and stalagmites. The cave has been known for a long time and is considered one of the many extremely significant paleontological and archaeological localities.

Javoříčko caves (21 km)

The underground system of the Javoříčko caves consists of a complex set of corridors, caves and abysses created inside an island of Devon calcites by the Špraněk stream. The cave is beautifully decorated with stalactites and stalagmites, the most beautiful ones are to be found inside two enormous spaces – “Detritus Cave“ and “Cave of Giants“. In addition to the traditional types of stalactites and stalagmites, some of them reaching a respectable size, there is also a large occurrence of “helictites“; stalactites or stalagmites growing against gravitation laws.

Litovel brewery (4km)

When it comes to speaking of Litovel many people associate it with the traditional beer that is brewed here. Tourists can arrange an excursion through the brewery with all its attractions; such as tasting different kinds of beers, information about how the beer is brewed and more. The excursion takes places only on work days and by prior arrangement.

Cheese Factory – Brazzale Moravia a.s Tři Dvory, Litovel (1,1km)

In the neighbouring village of Litovel there is one of the largest hard-cheese producing factories in the world. The cheese that is produced here is Gran Moravia, an Italian-style grana cheese (more commonly referred to as Parmesan). The factory doesn’t offer excursions, though tourists can buy all kinds of cheese and dairy products the factory produces in the adjacent shop, as well as in the Tourist information centre in Litovel.

Farm – Doubravský Dvůr

The heart of the picturesque farm Doubravský dvůr is a farm with a cowshed, a dairy shop with homemade dairy products. The farm is open to visitors all year round and the visitors can tour the entire place, stroke the animals (cows, calves, goats), and learn about farming and animal behavior through educational signs. The dairy shop offers a wide range of homemade dairy products (from milk, yogurts, cottage cheese to various types sweet products including homemade ice cream). During summer the visitors can refresh themselves at a (not only milk) bar in the backyard with a sitting area, and for children there is a small playground area. There’s also possibility to rent a boat or to roast your own sausage by a pond.

‘Tvarůžky’; Traditional cheese factory Loštice (15km)

The city of Loštice is famous for its factory producing traditional mature cheese called ‘tvarůžky’. The cheese is made of skimmed (non-fat) milk and it has a very unique spicy flavour and typical stinky smell, and it sold in various forms. In Loštice you can find an established shop with all variations of this cheese. Besides this specialized shop there is also a museum of ‘tvarůžky’, which exhibits tools used in the past to produce the cheese, and there are shown short documents to illustrate the production in the past. The museum is open all year round from 9am to 5pm.

Šternberk Castle (19km)

Šternberk Castle, originally a defensive medieval mansion with preserved cylindrical tower and remains of the main palace, attracts visitors an unusual atmosphere. Šternberk Castle is on of the oldest rock – built castles in Moravia. Some time after 1253 it was founded by Zdeslav of Šternberk who acquired this area to the North of Olomouc from Přemysl Otakar II for military help.

Natural swiming in lake of sand pick Náklo (11 km)

A large natural swimming pool between villages Lhota nad Moravou and Náklo is located about 10 km from Litovel. Around the lake are grass-sandy beaches. The water here is clear. The lake Náklo is also a popular place for water scooters, and it is also possible to camp there. There are three refreshment stalls, mobile toilets with running water, in selected places you can fish – allowances are provided by ČRS MO Litovel. Swimming is at your own risk.

Dolní Morava (67 km)

Erected between the Mountains Orlické and Mountains Jeseníky  in 2015, the Sky Walk is a wooden structure 55 metres above the ground that will take you beyond the tree tops and even higher. Standing some 1116 metres above sea level, its top section commands a beautiful view of the Králický Sněžník massif as well as the valley of the River Morava.
